Terms of Service

1. Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Rohrpost managed cloud service at app.rohrpost.io. They do not apply to self-hosted deployments of the open-source Rohrpost software, which is licensed under the MIT License and provided without warranty.

By creating an account or using app.rohrpost.io, you agree to these Terms.

2. Open-source software

The Rohrpost software stack is open source and available atcodeberg.org/ftieben/rohrpost.io. It is licensed under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and sell copies of the software freely, subject to the terms of that license.

These Terms of Service apply only to the managed cloud service, not to your self-hosted deployment.

3. Managed service — acceptable use

You may use the managed service for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

• Store or transmit content that is illegal, abusive, harassing, or infringes third-party rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other tenants' data or the underlying infrastructure
• Use the service to send unsolicited messages, scrape content, or conduct denial-of-service attacks
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of proprietary components
• Resell or sublicense the service without prior written permission

4. Your content

You retain all ownership of the capsule content, knowledge graphs, and other data you store in the service ("Your Content"). By using the service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit Your Content solely to provide the service to you. We will not use Your Content for any other purpose.

You are responsible for ensuring that Your Content does not violate applicable law or third-party rights.

5. Account and API keys

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and API keys. Do not share API keys or session tokens. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of your credentials.

6. Service availability

We aim to keep the managed service available and will communicate planned maintenance in advance. The service is provided "as is" during the early access period. We do not offer an uptime SLA until formally launched. Enterprise customers may negotiate SLAs separately.

7. Data export and account termination

You may export your entire knowledge base at any time using therohrpost_okf_export MCP tool or the CLI. If you cancel your account, we will retain your data for 30 days to allow export, then permanently delete it. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the fees you paid in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Germany, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country requires otherwise.

11. Changes to these Terms

We will notify you of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
